Judges: A Commentary for the 21st Century Church

The book of Judges is more than ancient history; it can also speak to the 21st century church. When read for a directive word from God for His people to follow here and now, the book of Judges becomes a cry to the church to remember their divine calling to be a holy people, separated unto God with a mission to fulfill in this world. The prophetic reading of Judges should cause modern-day Christians to “test and see” if they are in the will of God.
Judges was written to provoke all those who call upon the name of the Lord to ask Him to give them the power to overcome this world and its temptations. Failure to obey the Lord’s call to be holy in every aspect of their lives will leave Christians defeated and swept away bythe evil rulers of this world.
Judges is a call to action for all faithful Christians to be radical followers of God, to put on the full armor of God, stand firm, and without fear resist the forces of evil in this dark hour.
